Hardin declined to make a statement before the trap waa sprung, but pray ed earneatly for 80 minutes, and then begged the aherlff to give him another week. Hla nock was broken by the fall. Frank Hardin, the father, secur ed the body and took It to hla hom.j, 11 miles from Chester for burial. He refuaed to aee his son before the ex ecution, nor did he look upon the body, and Hardln'a wife did not oome to Chester after her husband s conviction. A BUNCOMBE DIVORCE SUIT. Mra. Halite M. Colby Seeks a Legal Separation From Her Husband, Who la Now In the West. Special to The Observer. Asheville, Dec. 16. In the office of Clerk Erwln, ot the Superior Court late yesterday afternoon a summons was Issued and divorce proceedings insti tuted by Mra. Hallle M. Colby against her husband, Willis H. Colby. The complaint haa not been filed and prob ably will not be until the convening of the February term of Superior Court. It is aald that non-support of the plain tiff will be plead aa cause for divorce. Some time ago Mra. Colby instituted suit against her husband to secure proper support. This action Is now pending. Mr. and Mrs. Colby came to Asheville several years; ago; were prominent in the clal life of the city and the domestic troublea of the couple has been a source of much comment and gossip.
