OLIVER FARM SOLD Well-Known Property ar tlidCity Change Hands Description of It-, It is learned on good authority that the fine farm of Mr. Fred Oliver, about one mile beyond Dilworth, known as the Oliver wheat farm, has been eotd to parties from out of town. F. C Abbott A Co., are agents for Mr. Oliver and when asked concerning the sale yesterday, did not deny the truth of the report but declined to give out definite information. n This farm contains 270 acres and is one of the finest in Mecklenburg coun ty. Mr. Oliver, while connected with the Oliver Oil and Refining Company, made a very liberal Use of the by products of the mill and brought the land up to a high state of cultivation. At one time he shipped to the farm several carloads of Texas cattle' to be fattened on cotton seed hulls and meal. The farm's immense cattle barn accommodating five hundred head of cattle is still in fair condition and is probably the most extensive cattle shed tn this part of the country. Two or three years ago It was said that accord ing to report one hundred and fifty bales of cotton were raised on one hundred acres of the Oliver land. On account of its great value the farm will probably command a huge price, and its sale Is the most impor tant real estate transaction of the week. Something to Solve. A gentleman came Into The Observer office yesterday and pronounced the following figure pusde. It is left for the public to solve: "Choose two sets of figures of four each; the first two of each set to be the same; the last two figures of the sec- ond set to be one-half of the last two of each set. The total of the first set is 10, -tf the second set,7 . What are the figures?"
