Addison, a young traveling 'man who has been working out of Chester for an agri cultural Implement concern. The let ter comes from Addison s Drotner, who says Albert was last seen six months ago In Batesburg, that he la only 22 years, old and left home a year ago. PRESSINO PARDON PETITIONS. . Governor Heyward, who has Just returned from Virginia, finds some pressing pardon petitions on his hands, there being half a doxen hang ings booked for early August, tie has Issued a call for a special meet ing of the pardon board to be held August 1st. The attorneys for Bob Smalls, the North Carolina white man sentenced to hang August 3rd. have been granted a date for a hearing be fore the Governor July 24. The par don board has already passed adverse ly upon this case. Another case he Is specially Investigating Is the Luke Gray caso from Alkon county. So licitor Davis has been requested to make a special report on this. The Governor has accepted an Invitation from the press ui.v intlon to, spend all of Wednesday with the editors dur ing their week on the Isle of Palms. He will also go to rhlckamaugu ami will be there to review the First and Second Regiments, although he will be too busy to get there In time for an Inspection of the Third Regiment, which leaves here lirst.
