Contest Closes Tuesday, May 18, 1915 l DIVISION -0F- Territory District No. 1 Embraces all territory in the city of Asheville and in Buncombe County, within 5 miles. :" All the territory outside of District No. 1. , Here is an opportunity to every boy and girl in Asheville and vicinity to own FREE a handsome Shetland Tony and buggy, or a gold watch. Two outfits will be given away by this newspaper one to a boy or a girl living in the city of Asheville, and one to a boy or girl living outside the city. There is an equal opportunity for every white boy or girl to win one of those outfits. All that is necessary is to gather up and vote the coupons which are daily printed in THE GAZETTE-NEWS and obtain voting certificates from the payment of subscriptions, new or old. These pony outfits are in all respects the very best that money can buy. The ponies are real, full blooded Shetlands, fully broken to harness and so gentle that the smallest child can drive or handle them with perfect safety. They are beautiful to the eye, sound as a" dollar and good for years of useful sendee. They will easily pull a load of two grown people. , . The. buggies are manufactured by one of the best vehicle concerns in the United States and are strong and alsolutely safe in construction, besides being stylish and up-to-date in appearance. The har ness is made of the best materials, both leather and hardware, and will give years of service. These outfits could not be duplicated for less than 3."i0 each. THE WATCHES ARE GOLD AND ARE WORTH $50.00 TO $65.00 EACH. The boy or girl receiving the highest vote in each district will receive the pony outfit, and the second highest In each district will receive the gold watch. All those who do not win one of the pri zes will be paid a commission of TEN' PER CENT ON ALL THE SUBSCRIPTIONS THEY HAVE TTTRNED IN OR HAVE BEEN VOTED FOR THEM. In case of .a tie between two candidates the value of the prliso will be divided between them. No employe of THE GAZETTE-NEWS and no member of the family of any employe of THE OA-ZETTEE-NEWS will be eligible to enter this contest. All nominations must be acceptable to the man agement of THE GAZETTE-NEWS. The voting certificates issued on payment of subscriptions may be voted at any time during the contest, excer that not more than 10,000 votes can be cast between one "publication of the standing of the vote and the next until the last week of the contert, when there ia no limit on the number of Totea that maybe cast at any time. Unless otherwise designated all rotes are good to the end of the contest or may be voted at the discretion of the .candidate or subscriber, subject to the voting rules. Votes will be- allowed on subscriptions secured anywhere. Any question that may arise during the contest will be settled by THE GAZETTE-NEWS and Its decision will be absolute and final. Absolutely no commission will be allowed to any agent, where certificate Is given, during this contest. If voting certificates are not asked for at the time of paying subscription, they cannot be obtain ed at any later time. ' After having been secured, no vote can be transferred from one candidate to another. No can didate can withdraw from the contest and transfer his or her votes to another. TEN PER CENT CASH COMMISSION TO NON-PRIZE WINNERS There Is printed on this page a nomination blank that la good for 1,000 votes for the boy or girl In whose fnvor It Is made out. It can be sent either by the boy or girl or by a friend, but only one nomination blank can be used for any one boy or girl. Be sure and get a nomination blank while thoy are appearing and have it cast. There Is also printed In each Issue of THE GAZETTE-NEWS a Voting Coupon good for 25 votes. Cut these out dally and get your friends to save them for you from their papers. In a few dayi these will easily amount to a very considerable vote. The voting coupon will have a date printed on It, within which it must be voted. If brought or sent in later than that date It cannot be accepted or counted. Also please- remember that all voting coupons must be turned In neatly trimmed about the edges and where more than ten In number must be tied In a package with thread or string or a rubber band.
