Florida voted Tuesday about four to one for the repeal of the 18th Amendment. Thirty-three states have voted without a break. Dr. Walter D. Toy, one of the State's best known educa tors, died Tuesday evening at his home in Chapel Hill after only a few days illness. He was the oldest professor at the Univer sity in point of years and service. He would have been 79 years old on Nov. 13th. Maj. L. P. McLeudon, former able Solicitor of this Judicial District, is to leave Durham. He goes to C< reensboro as a part ner in tbe law firm of Brooks, McLendon and Holderness. The late E. S. Parker, Jr., was a partner of Brooks and Holder ness. Maj. McLendon has been a leading lawyer in Durham since the World War. Greonsboro and Raleigh are at grij? over the location of the office of Collector of Internal Revenue. The office has been in Raleigh for many years. Congressman Umstead is re ported favoring the removal to Greensboro, which takes it out of another and puts it in his district. If the Raleigh people had a vote when Mr. Umstead runs again they, no doubt, would retaliate. Timely Farm Questions Answered at State College. yueeviou?
