Sec. 12. When the polls have been closed, the primary ballot boxes shall be opened in the presence of the regis trar and judges of election and 3uch electors as may desire to be present. TJie ballots of each of the several parties in the boxes in each precinct shall be counted and bound in separ ate packages, and the result shall be certified to the proper county board of elections, and by thgm to the state board of elections, upon blanks to be provided by the state board of elec tions. x Sec. 13. Only those who have illed notice of their candidacy and have complied with the requirements of law shall have their names printed on the official ballot. The sole candidate for a particular state senate in a district composed of two or more counties, shall be de clared the nominee of his party, and his name shall not therefore be placed on the primary ballot, but shall be placed on th^ ballot to be voted at til? general election. Sec. 14. Primary to be held on Sat urday, June 3, 1916, for county offices; candidates shall file notice with the county board of elections and shall take the pledge required of candidates filing notice with the state board of elections. Sec. 15. That t lie several county boards of elections shall prepare, print and distribute the ballots fbr candidates for nomination as mem bers of the general assembly, and on the same ballot o. each party shall be printed the names of the candidate? for nominniton frr the several county offices, and such ballots shall be dis tributed to the several registrars and judges of election at the same time that the ballots for state officers are required to be di3tribuUd under the provisions of this act; and naid county boards of elections shall take receipts therefor, and tlR several registrars shall have su<hi ballots at their . respective polling places for the use of the electors- ftt the time of holding the primary. \ Sec. 18. That all ballots for nomi nation for county officers shall .be de posited; in -the box labeled, "Legislative Primary Box," hereinbefore provided for, which bo*, in addition to 'bearing the label, "Leg islative Primary Box," shall also Im mediately ^hereunder be labeled, ? "County Primary Box." Sec. 19. The sole candidate for tlfe state senate in a district composed of only one county, for the hoi^e-of rep resentative^ or for a county office, shall be declared the nominee of his party, and his name shall not, there fore, -be-placad-. on the primary ballot, but shall be placed on- the balldt to be voted at the general election. . Sec. 20. That the ? seyeral county boards of elections are hereby given authority to provide for holding in their respective counties primary elec tions for the choice of candidates for the nominations for township and pre cinct offices, and to prescribe and fix the rules and regulations under witioii the same shall be held; and. the expen ses thereof shall be paid by the sey eral counties. Sec. 21. The registrar and judges of election at such precinct shall tify upon blanks prepared and print ed by the state board of elections the result of the primary election; ~ there shall be made two copies of returns; one copy shall be filed with the clerk of the court and one with the county board of elections^ it shall be the duty of the judges and registrars to preserve and keep for six months after each election the original ballots^ cast at such election, which ballots, after being countcd, shall be placed in bundles, a separate yid distinct bundle to be made of the ballots of each and every political party cast in each of the boxes : and each box in which ballots were cast shall be carefully sealed up before the election officers shall separate, so that nothing put in may be taken from them, and the signature of the regis trar and judges of each precinct shall be inscribed at the same time on a seal placed on each box of the pre cinct, and no box shall be opened ex cept upon written order of the county board of elections or a proper order of court. The state board of elections shall, prepare the printed form of returns to be made by the 4udges_and^ registrars, so as to show the number of votes cast for each candidate. Sec. 21^. The county boards - of elections shall tabulate the returns made by the judges and registrars on blanks to be prepared and furnished by the state board of elections; these 'returns, in the case of offices other than the state senate in dis tricts composed of only one county, the liouse of representatives, and county offices, shall he made out for each county in duplicate, and one copy shall be forwarded to the stat^ board of elections and one copy shall be filed Lwith the clerk of "the superior court of the county from which ~?uch re turns are made.'
