Mr. Grant is a native of Northampton County. He graduated with honors from J N. C. .State University in j 1936. He i?*n:lit vocational Agriculture at Ui^canu High j School before coming to 1 Greene- County as Assistant i County Agent in 1938. He . was appointed Countv Agent in 1948. A member of Calvary Me morial United Methodist Church, now serving on the Administrative Board, a mem ber and past President of Snow Hill Rotary Club, a member of the State and Na tional County Agents Asso ciation, he received the Dis tinguished Service Award from this organization in 1959. He is also a member of the Greene County Farm Bureau. Mr. and Mrs. Grant will continue to make their home in Snow Hill . Mrs. Grant is the former Frances Person, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. OPED 'TIL millTE 7 DAYS I WEEK Cobbs In Concert Here MRS^ COBB DR COBB Mrs. Bailey Speaks To Louisburg FHA Chapter The Louisburg chapter of the Future Homemakers of America held its monthly meeting November 12, 1969 at 3:00 p.m. During the business meet ing, Carita Perry was elected as Recreation Leader. Patricia Freeman, president, announc ed that the December meet ing would be held as a Christ mas decoration workshop. Mrs. Gladys Bailey was key speaker for the program. She was introduced by Star Caldwell. Mrs. Bailey spoke on Stable Homes Stable Life. During her talk, Mrs. Bailey emphasized that there are cer tain "riionstei?" that a person should overcome to help create a stable life. Among these monsters were: 1. sel fishness 2. jealousness 3. pro crastination 4. the use of the word if 5. drugs and drinks and using the pronoun I in stead of we or you. Mrs. Bailey also stressed Thanks I want to say thank you to every person for the prayers, cards, flowers, gifts and visits. While I was a patient at Mary Elizabeth Hospital at which I underwent an operation on November 14. Thank you for every kind deed shown to me, while 1 was in the hospital. I want to especially thank Mrs. Lilliam D.' Horton for re membering me with flowers from the New Hope Christian Church. Mrs. Mattie R. The Department of Fine Arts will present the annual fall guest recital Tuesday, November 25, at 8:00 p.m. in the College Auditorium. Dr. James Cobb, and his wife Barbara will perform in a program of compositions from Purcell. Mozart, Schu bert, Brahms, Verdi, Williams, and Gilbert and Sullivan. The program, open to the public without charge, is about one hour and will be followed by an informal reception. , Dr. Cobb is presently Chairman of the Music De partment at Atlantic) Chris tian College. His music study has been at Southwestern at Memphis. Boston University, the University of North Caro lina, and the University of Illinois. His career as a singer included a solo spot on the Ed Sullivan Show, recordings sessions with Columbia Ed ucational Records, guest ap pearances with the Charlotte and Atlanta Symphonies, and numerous concert and ora torio recitals. ? ?*= ? ?
