Bladen county court is in ses sion this week at Eliznbothtovn. It is presided over by Judge James Webb, of Shelby, while Solicitor Sinclair is prosecuting for the State. By invitrtion the writer accom panied Mr. C. M. Fuller through iue country ana spent Jion day and Tuesday at Elizabeth town. Mr. Fuller has been on hand during theholdingof Bladen court semi annually for the past fifteen or sixteen years. He is well known to -all the Bladenites. His presence is not only looked forward to regularly but is re garded by a goqd business in the live stock line. The distance between the capi tals of Robeson and Bladen is about twenty-six miles or about a four-hours' drive. The trip is not tiresome but. altogether plea sant. It is mostly a trip through the forest, with an occasional cleared tract in sight from the road. Some pretty timber is seen along the road' Elusabethtowh itself is not a large - town but , an ;. interesting from a hiaworicai gtanpoiafe. . We met many as clever people from there and from all over the county of Bladen as t we ever saw. Monday, the first day of the court, there were probably as many as a thousand people from all over the connty. The judge was late arriving and did not con vene court until the afternoon- The morning afforded a splendid opportunity to the horse traders. There were many of them there and horses and mules exchanged hands at considerations ranging from "thank you"to over $200. The Ladies' Aid Society of the Methodist church of Elizabeth town gave an oyster supper Mon day night for the benefit of the church fund- Oysters were served to order. The ladies pre pared and sold candy, also on the occasion. A little over zzo was realized. The management of the supper deserve credit for their efforts in making the sup per the success they did. "Joshua Simpkins"a four act New England play, will be pre sented at the Opera House Jan. 15th. The climax of stage realism, it is asserted, has been reached in the presentation of the stirring saw-mill scene to "Joshua Simp kins" and will be presented in this city by a peculiar mechani cal contrivance which has never been introduced here before. This saw-mill scene is claimed to be a vast improvement over many attempts in a similar line. The company also boasts of a splendid orchestra, which is car ried complete by the organization, to aid in the proper presentation of the play, which is said to abound with musical and danc specialties of a high order. To assist ... "Joshua Simpkins" in, popularity, a band of music is also carried, and a concert is Kiven which is said to be far above anything usually heard with a travelling musical organi zation. The parade will leave the theater, at the usual time and take the usual route, making a burlesque parade Moore & Powell have dissolved partnership. Safe, Sore and Speedy. No external remedy ever vet devised has so fully and unquestionably met these three prime conditions as successfully as Allcock's Plasters. They are safe because they contain no deleterious drugs and are m nufactared upon scientific principals of medicine. They are sure because noth ing goes intr. thetn except ingredients which are exactly adapted to the purpos es for which a plaster is required. They are speedy in their action became th u medicinal qualities go right to their work of relieving pain ana restoring the natur al, and healthy performance of the func tions of muscles, nerves and skin. Allcock's Plasters sre the original and genuine porous plasters and like most meritorious articles have been extensively imitated, therefore always make sure and get the genuine Allcock's. t . vonmcior una uauacr, Lumberton, N.
