Joseph James, trorn Boston. &l,L.i:?, & CU. PROSPKCTl OF" THE DULY JOrilXAL. Tut SaWriber this day eomtaeaee the publication ia the town of WUotiegtoD, of a daily evening paper by the abTt title. It will be issued every day (Sundays excepted) after the arrival of the mails, so as te give the very latest intelli gence from all quarters. The publiihera will also avail themselves of every additional facility within their reach for the collection f sews. ' Partii alar attention will be paid to the Commercial depart ment of the paper, and full and accurate reports given of the state of our own markets, as well as of all others having any influence npon the trade of this place or section. The growing importance of Wilmington, and the increas ing wants of the mercantile community at large, have seemed te call for and warrant the commencement of this enterprise. North Caroliua is almost, if not quite, the only State ia the Union ia which no daily paper is published. California, which but yesterday was a wilderness, has a flourishing daily press, while North Carolina has not one withiiw-ter borders. Such should not be the case. We believe that we can fairly appeal to the State pride, as well as to the interests of our fellow-citiiena, to sustain us in our present effort to remove this reproach. It is scarcely necessary to refrto the polities of ' The Dai ly JorniAL, " as it will be under the same editorial manage ment with the Weekly " Wilinoto Joi anaL, " which pa per will continue to be published on the same terms as for merly, deriving, it is to be hoped, additional interest from the use of the more exten Jed facilities which the publication of a daily must render necessary. In politics it will support the doctrines of the Lfeinocratio party ; yet, while Arm ami decided in the assertion and maintenance of its own opinions, will be moderate and reectful towards those who may differ from it. Tekms. The priee of "The Daily Joi kmal" will be six dollars per annum, incariaMy iii &dcanct. The heavy out lay attendant upon the publication of such a paper will ren der a strict adherence to this rule unjtrativt. A tri-weekly paper will also bo issued at four dollars jer annum, should a sufficient number of tri-wcckly subscribers be obtained. The LUii JtHkAh i how before the rraWH; The la bor and outlay which its issue entails is very considerable, and will requite a generous support to save us from heavy loss. In starting it, we have relied upon that liberality which has heretofore been extended to us, and have launched our bark, determined that it shall sink or swim upon its own merits. Fl'ETON & PRICE.
