October f, ISBK PRO'PECTI S OP THE DAILY JOl K AL The SaWriben this day commence the putlicatioa in the towa of Wilmington, of a daily evening faper by the abv title. It will be issued every day (SuaUy eicepted) after the arrival of the mails, so a to give the very latest intelli gence from all. quarter. Tb publishers will also avail themselves of every additional facility within their reach for the collection of new. Particular attention will be paid to the Commercial depart ment of the paper, and full and accurate reports given of the state of our ewa markets, as well a of all ether having any influence upon the trade of this place or section. The growing importance of Wilmington, and the increas ing wants of the mercantile community at large, bsre seemed to call for and warrant the commencement of this enterprise. North Carolina is almost, if not quite, the only .State in the Union in which no daily paper is published. California, a bii h but yesterday was a wilJerness, ha a flourishing daily pre, while North Carolina has not ons within her borders. Such, should not be the ease. We believe that we raft fairly appeal to the Mate pride, as well as to the interests of our fellow-citiiens, to sustain us iu our preseut effort to remove this reproach. It i scarcely necessary to refer to the polities of "The 1ai ly Jot" as At, " as it will be under the same editorial manage, ment with the Weekly " Wil.wixotox Ji rmai., " which pa per will continue to be published on the same term as for merly, deriving, it is to be hoped, additional interest from the use of the more eztenied facilities which the publication of a daily must render necessary. In politics it will support the doctrines of the Democratic party ; yet, while firm an l decided in the assertion and maintenance of its own opinions, will be moderate and resectful towards those who may differ from it. Ter.mh. The price ofiiJPjfE Daily Joi rnai. " will be fix dollars per aiuiumTfJftviriwy in aJvanrt. The heavy out lav attendant upon the publication of such a paer will ren der a strict adherence to this rule trtijxratirt. A tri-weekly puper will alo be issued at four di liars per annum, should a sufficient number of tri-weekly subscribers be obtained. The Daily Jovral " is now before tht public. The la- bor and outlay which its issue eoUaiUis very considerable, aud cutt flj y tourl "WTTfs'f will requite a generous support to save us from heavy loss In starting it, we have relied upon that liberality which has heretofore been extended to us, ami have launched our bin k, determined that it shall sink or swim upon its own merits.
