Senate, and formerly editor of the
Charleston (S. 0.) Republican and of
the Chronicle of this city, died at his
residence hero last night. The remains
will be taken to Wethersfleld, Conn.,
on Sunday, for burial. e

The negro Henry Young,, convicted
of the murder of Frank Hahr, the
Virginia drover, in March last, was
hanged to-day. He made a state
ment on the scaffold that he was pre
pared to die, and, in response to an
inquiry from some one among tho
spectators, he said Le was not guilty.
