Young Iteilly was a medical student who was support inf? his aped mother and saving money to pay his college expenses by doing newspa per work. When a call was made for vol nnteers to go over to Coney Island, Reilly offered his services. He was provided with money and a a wv a was neaviiy ciotneu. wnen nis mother protested, he answered: "Mother, do not stop me. it is my opportunity to make a name in news paper life." He made the trip and tilled his note book with "points' for his report but his strength gave out before he could get back to New York. He sank in a snowdrift, where he was found almost frozen todeath. He was taken to the Kings County Hospital at Flatbush, wherehe died. The Paris correspondent of the New York Times on March 15 says: The great subject of discussion now is the continuation of the Papal residency at Rome in case of a Eu ropean war. lne Marquis Armijo de la Vega, representing Spain dur ing.the Jubilee, was the only per sonage ravorea witu uie unier of Christ. This leads to the supposi tion that the Pope favors a removal to Spain. To Bismarck only had his Holiness previously been thus gen- erous, alter nis interference m me Carolines qnestion. It Is reported that. Lord Salisbury requested the Duke of Norfolk recently to tarry a day longer in Rome, in order to ret new officially her Majesty's offer of the Island of Malta for the Pope's residence. The Prince of Monaco and Prince Lichenste'i, who has in dependent possessions in Austria, have both offered the hospitality of their domains. France thJrks that her right, as the eldest' sister of the Church, should be given prior con sideration, and a majority of the Cardinals arc inclined to join in this view, but a Papal sojourn might complicate matters considerably The safety of His'Hol'ness scarcely seems assured. In April lfsi. Miss Iuse, an American g'l, the' daughter of one of the present American consuls in Italy, married Capt. Alexander McMahon, of the Royal Artillery, and lived vith hm a year ttf Wool wich.V In 1883 the wife went to America with her mother, with Iier husband's consent. he nniking her a yearly allowance of 1"50. In 1334. she sued for a tlivorce in Colorado. He was served with papers, but sent a notice to the Col orado Court declining to appear, and a divorce was grauted her there hi August, 1831. She then married Edward Beayan. Mr. McMahon re cently sued for a divorce in London on the ground of her adultery with Bea van, ignoring the American di vorce, and he Judge granted the petition, giving him the custody of his child. This sajne point would have come op when Mrs. Langtry went to San Francisco to get nat uralized and sue for a divorce from her husband. It would have been decided then, had she made the at tempt, that she could not marry in America with an American divorce without occupying the same posi tion in s London that Mrs. Beavan does. The point established is that if an American woman married to an English husband wishes to obtain a divorce valid in London she most sue in the English Courts or she cannot get it, the domicile of her husband being the controlling fact in the eye of the law. - Lost. After experiencing the good effects I must say l am satisfied with the result. I am sixty-eight years of age and I feel now like a young man and can go to the case when necessary and set up from six to eight thousand ems without any incon venience. I send you-this without solicita tion. - - - - Mr. F. Woehl, 211 North Avenue, Chicago, under date of June 12, 1887, writes s "I deem it my duty to thank you for the cure I re- : ceived from your excellent medicine. I con tracted a very severe case of blood poison ing about two years ago. Hearing of your medicine, I went to a drug store, the pro prietor of which persuaded me to buy a preparation of his own, which he said was a sure cure. I used six bottles of his stuff and grew worse all the time. - At last I got disgusted and despaired of a cure. I met a friend who told me that your medicine had cured him. I went to the same druggist again and demanded your medicine. He re luctantly sold me twelve bottles, and I am now perfectly cured. I write this for tho benefit of sufferers, to prevent their' being deceived by false representations. I thank ain for the benefit, aenvea irom your CRIMINAL ClRCTJIT COURTS. ; NEW HANOVER COUNTY.
