In our effort to give not only our usual varietiy of news, but the Presi dent's message, by telegraph, in full, we failed in getting our forms to. press in time to save the mails. Mechanics' and Laborers' Asso ciation. There will be a meeting of this Association at the City Hall this evening, at 7$ o'clock. The Mechanics' and La borers' Association comprise, in its nieni bersliip both white and colored people, nstead of being exclusively colored, as has been erroneously stated. It is an ex tensive organization, numbering adout three hundred members, and is intended to elevate and. dignify labor and secure for it that respect which is its due. A Leap for Life.
