I rom Charleston. : The news from Charleston continues to be f ihe most cheering character, and the fever s-'f nis to have almost entirely died out there.' The News of yesterday morning says There is nothing new to say about tbe yel low fever to day, except that only one death Irom that cause has takeu place in three? days. For tbe tweuty-four hours ending, at 12; M. yesterday no deaths of any 'kind were reported." ' . . Aft , 2.('-'fV f f 1 ' .-?r- 3 Tournament. r , - tt t' We learn that steps are in progress looking to the organization of a'.T'onroament for the approaching" Fair. A gentleman informs us that quite a number perhaps as many as en gaged in the last Tournamentr-bave already expressed awillingncss to participate. And this number can t)e largely increased, especial ly if the' lance be substituted for the sabre. Jt, is contended that if the lance be used in tilting "II theEnigbt8 will be on ,an equal footing, while, if the sabre be chosen, those who were in the lists at tbe last Tournament will be pre sumed to have the advantage over t their com petitors who have had lest practice. -It is also contended that by using the lanco the outfit will be less expensive, and consequently that a greater number will enter the lists. The Tournament contributed much to the" interest and enjoyment of our. last" Fair; but it is suggested that, if the jAssociation?rBhall deem it expedient to offer prizes for the buc cegsful Knights ; this year,; they be a little more moderate In their expenditures for that purpose, as this part of the. exhibition will be more for the amusement of the spectators than for the benefit of Agriculture or the' Me dianic Arts. It may, however, be made, lndl rectlya means of benefit In this "direction, pro vided too much is not expended J n prizes, as it will l)e the cause' of materially augment ing the number f visitors to thd gromtds on the day the Tonro'ament cornea off.
