Yesterday a white man by the name of Jack
son, a watchman at the Union Depot, arrested
a colored man whom he had reason to know
had 'been guilty of stealing a quantity of
peaches. In conjunction with his duties as
watchman, Mr. Jackson Is authorized in case
of necessity to perform the duties of a police
man, and wears a badge. Haying what he
