Sold by all Druggists ; $1, six bottles for $5. .aalDly ch'w . j nnn dec 31 The remark is often made that people are worse than they used to be. But this i not so. The human nature of the present is the human nature of the past. It is the same in all ages. Because one sees more evil, hears and reads more about the ba. things happening in different, parts of the country, is no evidence that people are nat urally worse than formerly.. In olden timet, they -had no telegraphs, railroads, daily newspapers and other facilities tor gettin in formation quickly from all sections. Cou sequently, they knew but little about what was going on iu other quarters. Now, in telligence of all kinds of crimes is sent daPy and hourly over the country; and enmin in the aggregate, the reader is apt to won de'r and to take up the idea that the world is growing worse. Chadboum Time. The Exposition has shown too that the State is almost virgin soil and therefore that the opportunities for making money are numerous and varied. Hence its chief fruit will be the attraction of capital and the good it has thus done towards increas ing the general welfare is incalculable. Every honor therefore should be accorded those who have , borne the . burden of the enterprise. They have labored long and unselfishly and "the Stale should regard them as among those' who have done most for her material advancement. : Raleigh Netc-Observer. PERSONAL.
