An attempt was made Friday night to burglarize a residence on Second, between Mulberry and Walnuts streets. Fortunate ly a young gentleman of the family returned home just in the nick of time, discovered the presence of the intruder, chased him across two or three lots and wound up by sending a leaden messenger after him, but probably without effect.
