In this connection it would be well to ask what has become of the project for a new hotel in Wilmington T Surely it has not been abandoned. Every time we glance at the long lists of arrivals at the hotels a little south of us, mostly composed of Northern people of means, travelling for recreation and pleasure as well as health, we are reminded' how easy it would be for Wilmington to have her share of this travel, at least, by haviaj'aftnt class hotel here. such as every Southern city of any preten sions is building or has already built. Let us have the hotel,-by all means. Pablle Fonntalna, There is some talk by the authorities of placing a horse drinking fountain, with lamp-post attachment a convenient local ity, probably at the intersection of Front and Market streets. We noticed at the City Hall yesterday a representation of one of these fountains, provided with three lamps, which is 10 feet 9. inches high to the bottom of the centre lamps; 2 feet 7 inches high to the top of the base. Ex treme diameter 5 feet 8 inches; inside di ameter of basin 4 feet 8 inches. Such a fountain would be a useful institution, but probably one which could supply both people and horses would be preferable Either kind can be secured at a cost of be tween five and six hundred dollars. A Small Fire. Fire broke out last night, about 7 o'clock, in a wood-shed on the premises of J. E. Sampson, colored, on Chesnut street, he tween Sixth and Seventh.
