OOcial of tbe New York institution for Deaf Mule are reported aa cxpreaaiog tbe belief that Bingham, the murderer of Miss Turlington, is dead, and by auicids. There la conjecture that a very tall man who re cently killed himelf. by jumping from Niagara uapenaioo bridge, wa Bingham. A report in tbe New York Herald aye. About a week ago Ernest Bingham. Wal ter's younger brother. 18 years oil, called upon Superintendent Br al nerd to aeek in formation as to bi brother. No sooner had he been toIJ about the extraordinary conduct of hi brother than Ernest express ed the conviction thai be wa insane. Lie said thai a coupli of years ago, after leav ing the deaf and dumb asylum, Walter wa Injured on tbe head io a railway acci dent la North Carolina, and that aince tbat lime he bad not be n in hi right mind. When Ernest Bingham left the dear and dumb asylum In Carmaaaville be waa ac companied by one of tbe deaf mute inspec tors of the institution, who went with him 10 the Hotel St. George, at Broadway aod Twelfth alreeL Here be left young Bing ham, whose name doe not appear oa the hotel's register, aod whose presence there al any lime wa not known by the clerk. It I evident, therefore, that the brother of the deaf mule, a well aa tbe fugitive from justice himself, baa reasooa for retirement. The three hundred or more iomate of the'aayium at Carmaaaville are profoundly agitated over the North Car. The beach along the coaat from Lock wood's Folly south, for milea, 1 reported to be covered with dead fish thrown up by the waves, and ia such vast numbers that the farmers are hauling them off to be compos led for manure. The aame atraoge phenomenon wa reported last week along the coast from Scott' IIUl to Topsail, where loos of the dead fish were brought aero the Sound la boat and hauled off by the fat men for manure. Tbe dead flab are all of the variety known as fat-backs or menhaden, aod are valuable for fertili tiog purpose. Capt. HubbarJ. of ths steamer Kanter, plying between Charleston aod George town. 8. The good people of Bmithville, also, are somewhat agitated on the railroad question Il Is reported tbat . some of the officials connected with the proposed railroad from thai place to some point in Tennessee, have already made their donrt cile there aad have rented the Pavilion, which 1 to be transformed into offices for their use. . Despite tbe heavy atorm of wind aad rain there waa a full house. Tbe annual viaita made by tbia company to Wilmington have made them appear aa friends aad acquaintances with whom we meet once a year aad discuss delicious mor sels of music and song, and tbeir night it looked forward to by many with pleasura ble anticipation. . . . .Tho concert wa opened by Schubert's Octette., in F. Op. 166, arranged as a quin tette, and It seemed as if tbe performers de sired to impress the audience at the star with the wonderful - facility and ease with which -they, rendered tbia delightful and difficult compoeition. They certainly suc ceeded to doing so, and - tbe storm of ap plause which was awarded tbem doubtless put them en rapport -with their listeners and on their mettle. Misi Alice Ryan eang an old Ital ian air aa a sample of the music composed in tbe seventeenth century, which was heartily enioyed and enthusiastically eocored. There is a sweetness and pathos embodied in this old music wbicb is pe culiarly attractive, especially to students and lovers of music, of which there were many present, and tbia old song was warm ly welcomed. No. S was a fluto solo by Mr. William Schade. which waa another proof that each performer ia a perfect maaW of his instru ment. His efforts elicited a very decided encore and ho favored the lovers of pop ular music by rendering "The Mocking Bird." The great feature of the evening was un doubtedly Beethoven's Quartette in C mi nor. It is on this stylo of music that this club beKS ita high reputation, and, aa usual, it was played perfectly. It was a morsel for the gods the almost divine thoughts and emotions of the great master were fully realized, and the result was a taste of the sreatest. purest and best music ever written by man. The Andantioo waa inexpressibly beautiful Ita slow, grand, soulful theme thrilled every heart and kept every liatener spell-bound. The fifth number was a violin solo by Mr. John M&rquardt. He possesses a fine instrument and knows bow to use it. His tones were full and round and perfectly pitched. He played with remarkable ease and fluency. Like his predecessors he was recalled, and as good naturedly responded. The genial face of Mr. Thos. Ryan, with bia clarioneUe, ia like that of an old friend, and his solo waa greatly enjoyed. As a specimen of lighter music, the Quin tette played two very catching little pieces, a love song by Taubart, aod Schuster's "Adieu to Naples." They were little gems and were -veil received. Mr Louis Blumenberg followed with a violiocello solo, and made a great hit, as was evidenced by tbe ovation ha received. Foslo'a "Gocd Bye" waa a little- too much for Mi&s Ryan. It requires a voice of an unusually large register, and while the aong was ou the whole, well rendered, the lower notes were not full enough. This young lady has made rapid improvement aioce her last appearance here and is quite an addition lo the company. Tbe concert closed with Boccherini's minuet, and there was a sigh of regret, as it terminated this delightful entertainment Tbe large and fashionable audience were eaibuaiaelic and the t rib a tea accorded to the club were many and deserved. The ears of all were tickled and their fancies gratified by tbe beautiful strains of music which greeted them. The entire perfor mance was most unique in all particulars, and everything combined to make it most pleasant for tbe audience and tbe entire company. The club will always be welcomed here with pleasure and will always receive a moat cordial welcome. Ill VER AND JTIARIWE. Nor. barque Heinrich Djorn, Nysteen, hence, arrived at London Jan. 11th. Sbe went out of the harbor on tbe afternoon of tbe 23d, and, not answering her helm, two anchors were dropped, but subse quently tripped them.
