The Florida Ship Canal Company, effected an or ganization at a stockholders meeting; in tbin city last night, by the election of ex-Governor John C Brown, of Tenn., an President; Hon. 'William Windon, Vice-President; George V. Gorham, Secretary; 8. T. Meyer, Treasurer; and lieu. Chas. Stone, Chief Engineer; and the following director's: John C. Brown Wm.Vrndom, Gov. Benjamin F. But. ler, Senator Wn. Mahone, Townsend Cox, Governor Wm. E. Cameron, S. T. Meyer. A W. Jones, A. S. Mann, M. Jacobs," v. D. Groner, and Senator John H. Jones. It was announced that $26,000,000 had been subscribed to the capital stock of the company. Gen. Stone will place a corps of 'engineers in the field without delay, and iheworlc is expected to be under contract by the first of September. It is estimated that the can.il will coat $30,000,000, ami will be completed in three years. The pro posed route will leave St. John's rivor above Jacksonville, and tnence in a direct line as nearly as possible to fc'uwanec river, on the Gulf of Mexico, making a tide water cans.1 of lesa than one ruindred miles in length and deep enough to float the largest ocean-steamer ftam oceau to gulf. Richmond, Va., May 7, 1883. The legal troubles of the White Sul- pher p'ings property have broken out afresh, culminating in a conflict "of ju risdiction between Judge Bond, of 'the United' .States Circuit Court, and Judge Jackson,. of the United States District Court, of West Virginia. "There are rival mi its of creditors in both courts ankin for the appointment of a re ceiver. The first of these was institu ted in the United States District Court West Virginia, and pending proceed ings Judge J sckson placed, a marshal in charge of the property. Subse quently Judge Bond, on the petition of Oilier, creditors, appointed A. 1j. Boul ware, of this citv. receiver, ignoring the previous action of Judge Jackson. Boulwam took formal possession of the property about two weeks ago in thj absouce of Judge Jackson's marshal.
