All members are urged to attend. C. ’Phone 335 one day when the roads were at the worst The war news for the last few weeks has looked much better, with the Russians advancing rap idly on the eastern front and the Yanks and the British having closed out the Belgium salient and have their long line of battle well under way again, advancing slow ly but surely towards Berlin. We might be in for a number of un foreseen reverses before the Ger mans are knocked out of the war, but experts are now predicting freely that they will certainly not last through 1946 and a sudden surrender might take place at any time. Not knowing the strength and the morale of the German peo ple, it ia hard for anyone to pre dict the trend of events, but when German radio broadcasts the des perate conditions existing in that doomed nation, the end will come with starvation and hopelessness.- A wedding ol much interest to the community and to adjoining sections took place Sunday, Jan uary 28, at York, S. C., when Mrs. Maggie Russell Edminsten, -of Kings Creek, but fonh^y of this community, became th»- bride of Hill R. Triplett, of Lenoir and Boomer. The marriage vows were spoken before Justice of the Peace E. Gettys Nunn. The bride was attired in a beautiful beige dress with navy accessories. Upon the return from York a reception was held at the home of the bride groom’s sister, Mrs. W. C. Walsh, of Boomer. The cake, topped with „ miniature bride and gfroom, oc cupied the center of the table and refreshments were served tp 46 guests. After a short wedding trip the couple will be at their new home, Lenoir route one. The best wishes of this community are extended to the newlyweds. ■Vt r News Of Boomer The Past Week Rev. E- V.
