Mrs. Prank Blair and Mrs. Watson Brame, at the Forester home oa D Street honoring Miss Corinne Faw, who was Married on Saturday to (ijharlee Shelton Sink. Jr., of North WUksafcoro. A large number of friends called be tween the hours of three to six to greet the honoree, niece and cousin of the hostess group, aad to enjoy their gracious hospitality. Mrs. Brame and Mrs. Gordon Flnley welcomed the callers at the doer, aad receiving with Mrs. Forester were Mrs. C.. C. Faw,. mother of the bride; Miss Faw, Mrs. C. 8. Sink, mother * of the groom; Mrs. Blair, Mrs. W. A. Fonvielle, Jr., of Wilming ton, sister of the honoree; Miss Hattie McLean, sister of Mrs. Forester; Miss Frances Jones, and Mrs. Worth Tomllnson, the for mer ftflss Naa Davis, of Winston Salem. Miss McLeaa and Miss Jones, both of Wlaaton-Salem, were honseguests of Mrs. Fores ter. Directing guests from the libr ary to the hall were Mrs. Frank Tomllnson, and to the dining room Mrs. W. M. Deberry and Mrs. Boyd Stoat Mrs. Johnson J. Hayes and Mrs. Bdward G. Flnley alternated at the tea table, beautifully appointed in a green and white motif, with Mrs. James M. Aaderson and Mrs. Darwin Smithey. Assisting with the serv ing were Meedamas F. D. Forest er, Jr., W. F. Absher, Henry Moore, Harold Burke, O. C. Faw, Jr., aad Miss Linda Brame. Mrs. Warner Miller, Sr., direct ed callers to the living roon where Mrs. Bngeae THvette and Mrs. C. E. Jenkins, Sr. received. Good-byes were said in the sun parlor to Mrs. C. G. Poindexter. The dining table, spread with a white Maderfa doth, was cen tered with a (Age bouquet of mixed white flowers about which four tall tapers gleamed. Elsewhere about the home spring flowers in pastel shades were ar tistically arraaged. The bridal note was furthered in the mints and the individual cakes. Musical Arts Club In Monthly Meeting Mrs. A. |X,. Casey, Misses Ruth King W]|&t, Rebecca R'aper, and Ruby Blackburn combined hospi tality to the members of the Mu sical Arts club is their monthly meeting held Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Casey. Miss Ellea Robinson, the president, was in Charge of the business ses sion. For the program Mrs. Charles Ziliak, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Qwyn Gambill, gav a mu sical reading "The Walts" Dorothy Parker. Mrs. Gambill rendered a piano solo "Polichinelle" Rscb - maniaoff. Sometime was spent in prac ticing some ohoruses the group plan to siag at the neat P. T. A meeting. The meeting was large ly attended and during the so cial hour the hostesses served re freshments. Support The Red Cross Mrs. R. E. Dunn Is Bridge Club Hostess A delightful club party of the week vu one given by Mrs. R. B. Dnnn at her home In Wilkes boro Thursday evening entertain ing for the mem1>era of the Wila bri club and eome visitors. Re freshments followed play- Top scert prise -within the club went to Mrs. Tom Story and for the visitors to Mrs. B. H. Fritts. Mrs. B. L. Green received the bingo afraid. ' jg The A. E. Fosters Give Birthday Party Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Foster were hosts at a triple birthday party at their home on Tenth Street last Saturday evening honoring their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Zane Foster, and Mr. Foster's sisters, Mrs. John Crawford and Mrs. Orate Laws, whose birthdays oc curred on March 17, 18, and 22. Around twenty-five guests were present and were directed in games and contests by Mrs. Ray Barnes, after which refreshments were served. The honorees were remembered with gifts. Millers Creek Club Has Good Meeting Millers Greek Home Demon stration Club met March 16, 1950, 1:30 p. m. with Mrs. Haggle Faw hostess and Mrs. Monroe Faw co hort ess. The meeting was called to or der by our president, Mrs. Paul Delp. We sang together the "Quilting Party" song and re peated the club collect. The roll call showed seven teen present, and one visitor, Miss Irene McNlel. Mrs. Delp gave us several im portant dates to remember. We voted to send $5.00 to the Red Cross drive. Mrs. Q. O. Kilby, our poultry leader, had charge of the egg con test, which was won by Mrs. Ruff Dockery for having the most uni form dozen of eggs. Mrs. J. B. Rash gave us an in teresting demonstration on the subject of "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall." There being no further business the meeting was closed with a prayer by the group.
