Faw received at the Woman's club house on Trogdon Street Friday evening from 8:80 until 10:80 honoring their youngest daugh ter, Miss Corinne Faw, and Charles 8. Sink, Jr., who were married Saturday in a one o'clock -cere mony at the Presbyterian church, ▲ large number of friends called during the evening and were wel combed at the door by Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Faw, Jr. Receiving with the hosts and the honored couple were Dr. and Mrs. C. S. Sink, parents of the groom, Mrs. F. C. Forester and her two-houseguests for the-week end, Miss Hattle McLean and Miss Frances Jones, both of Winston Salem, poured punch at two tables beautifully appointed in the bridal note. Sandwiches, individ ual cakes, mints, and nuts were served. Good-byes were said by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Blair and Mr. and Mrs. Watson Brame. Others assis ting in the entertainment of the guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Fonville, Jr., of Wilmington, and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Smithey. Mrs. Fonvielle is a daughter of the Senior Faws. The bride's table, spread with a white Maderia cloth, was center ed with a three-tiered wedding cake, and decorated with white candles and Epergene's of white flowers. At the close of the recep tion the bride's cake was cut by Mrs. Brame, after the bride and groom had cat the first slice. About the spacious room of the clubhouse and on the mantles were arrangements of white flow ers and greenery. On Friday Mrs. Forester, aunt of the bride, honored her with a small luncheon at the Forester home on O Street. Covers were laid for Miss Faw, Mrs. C. G. Faw, Mrs. W. A. Fonvielle, Jr., Miss Hattie McLean, and Miss Frances Jones, and the hostess. Following the wedding on Satur day members of the bridal party and the wedding guests, which included only members of the two families, were invited to the For ester home for refreshments. A lovely courtesy extended Miss Corlnnle Faw prior to her marriage to Charles Shelton Sink, Jr., on Saturday, was the break fast given at Hotel Wilkes, with Mrs. Gordon Finley, and Miss Lucy Finley as hostesses. The long table was attractively arranged with two crystal bowls Of large Jonquils, place cards de corated with jonquils, and wed ding bells, and a jonquil at each place. A delicious breakfast- lunch was served at ten o'clock, to fif teen guests, all members of Miss Faw's family, and wedding party, and members of Mr. Sink's fam ily. The hostesses presented silver In her chosen pattern, to the bride-elect. Millers Creek W.S.C.S. Meets Millers Creek Women's Society of Christian Service held its monthly meeting Thursday night, March 16, at the home of Mrs. P. W. Greer near Millers Creek. An interesting program was conducted by Mrs. Greer, assisted by members. Following the business session a gift of China was presented to Mrs. Vance Owens, who was re cently married. Delicious refresh ment8 were served to the nine members present and a recrea tion period was enjoyed. All members are urged to please attend the April meeting, which will be with Mrs. Cecil Kilby at Millers Creek. i ne i-red inscores Rook Club Hosts Mr. and Mrs. Fred Inacore were hosts to the members of the i Reverie Rook club at their home Tuesday evening, having guests for three tables. The high score prizes were won by Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Young. Refreshments were served at the conclusion of play, and the decorations and party appointments featured the Easter motif. Pastime Club Met With Mrs. Sanders Members of the Pastime bridge club and one extra guest, Mrs. J. W. Powell were entertained Monday evening by Mrs. Johnson Sanders at her home in Wilkes boro. Top score prize, in the game played at two tables, went to Mrs. Bob Kite and the second high score award to Mrs. Robert Gam bill. Mrs. Arthur Lowe held the traveler's prize, and Mrs. Flake Cook was the winner of the bingo award. A dessert course follow ed play. Mrs. Chal McNiel Entertains Her Club The members of the Idlewlse club along with a number of extra guests -were delightfully enter tained Saturday evening by Mrs. Ohal McNeil at her home on D Street. Three tables were arrang ed for bridge In a colorful setting of mixed spring blossoms, and dur ing the evening the hostess serv ed a dessert course. Top score prise for club mem bers was won by Mrs. C. B. Eller and for thejrisitors by Miss Eliz abeth Smith, of Charlotte, who who was a houseguest for the week-end of Mrs. W. O.
