C., WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 1935 Bible School at Saluda The Saluda Daily Vacation Bible School will begin Monday morning, July 8, at the Saluda gymnasium and will last for ■wo weeks. Classes will be heid morning from, 9:15 to 11:15 for all children from six to six teen years of age. Solesbee-Jennings Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Solesbee of Landrum, S. C., announce the marriage of their daughter, Jessie Mae, to Mr. Ellis Jennings of Mc- Cormick, S. C., on June 1, at Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs. Jen nings will make their home in Landrum. Miss Crapo’s Play To Be Given Friday m An item in Sunday’s New York Times states that “Ladies Are Made”, by Mary Worley Crapo, will be the initial offering this sea son at the Va*ssar Experimental Theatre, Poughkeepsie, N. Y., on Friday evening. WOMAN’S AUXILIARY MEETS WITH MISS ANNIE RAVEN EL The Woman’s Auxiliary of the Church of the Holy Cross, Episco pal will hold its regular meeting on Monday afternoon, July Bth, with Miss Annie Ravenel at Chero kee Lodge. Landrum Stores To Close On July 4th Announcement is made that all the business houses of Landrum including the bank and postoffice will be closed on Thursday, July 4th, in commemoration of the Declaration of Independence. MONEY NEEDED C. J. Lynch states that the fire works for the Fourth of July cele bration have arrived and that the committee is still short of money to pay for them. Everyone who can donate any amount for this entertainment are requested to get in touch with Mr .Lynch as soon as possible in order that this matter may be taken care of as soon as possible. The fireworks display promises to be more color ful this year than ever. Dance On Fourth Lake Lanier Inn is being deco rated for the July Fourth dance to be held on Thursday evening at the lake. Fielding Cantrell's or chestra has been engaged to fur night the music. A number of young people are home from college throughout the surrounding section and many of them will wind up their Fourth of July celebration at the Lake Lanier Inn. Est. 1-31-28
