Roy Gaines and Miss Angie Moss left today for Monroe to at tend the funeral services of Mr. Gaines’ sister, Mrs. Lawrence Presson, who died Sunday of pneumonia. Walter M. Stephenson, third string catcher of fthe Chicago Cubs, is a resident of Saluda and was a member of the Asheville team for a brief time in 1932. Callled “Rebel” by his team mates on account of his willingness to defend the Confederate cause in any argument, Stephenson is considered a bright prospect.
