UNDER THE ACT OF CONGRESS, MARCH 3, 1879 Tryon-Saluda Plays Fruitland Institute In one of the hardest games of the season, the Tryon-Saluda team Ijl tackle the stro'ng Fruitland am at Harmon Field on Friday, Nov. 15th. The visitors always have a very strong group of play ers and in the meetings of the two schools each have won one game. The game tomorrow will be the deciding one of the series. Iryon will have Jones back in the lineup at halfback and Black well will see some service. In the game last Friday, Pearson, first string end received an. injury to his foot and will be out for the rest of the season. His position will be taken care of by either Ezelle Foster, Glenn Foster or Carl McClure. The remainder of the squad is in fine shape and are determined to meike up for their let-up in the last game. So far the team has played only straight foot ball, but' promises to open up with ^bag of tricks for the remaining &ort»nt games of the season. Hall Fletcher, which has an un usualy strong team this season will be met in the last home game and the final game will be played at Newberry. The weather promises to be ideal and for the last two games a good crowd is expected to cheer the locals on to victory. Carolina, Duke continue heavy work for grid classic. Long scrim mage given Tar Heels by Carl Snavely. Carolina still drills be hind closed gates for important tilt. Duke is working hard.' West returns to practice; defense is troubling Coach Wade. Hunt Club Picnic The Tryon Riding & Hunt club will have a picnic at Cedar Cliff, Friday noon, November 15th, for all members and friends. Those wishing to ride horseback leave Harmcn Field at 10:30.
