New Pastor’s Gar Sides wiped by Truck Dr. C. R. Arthur Lincoln’s sedan was almost demolished by a truck Friday just north of Spartanburg, but no one was injured except for minor bruises. Dr. and Mis. Lin coln s;nd daughter, Miss Peggy, were on their way from Daytona Beach to Tryon when the accident occurred. The driver of the truck alleged to have been involved in the collision, was arrested soon afterwards in Inman. Wife Of Solicitor First Woman Juror News dispatch from Rutherford ton states that Mrs. C. 0. Ridings and Mrs. C. S. Royster, served this week on the Rutherford jury. They wer^ said to be the first women in North Carolina to serve on the jury. Mrs. Ridings is the wife of the solicitor for this district. First Prizes Today The first drawing from the mer chants’ $300 cash prize fund will be made this afternoon at 4:30 at the Town Hall. Arrange your tick ets in numerical order and write them down in such a way that you can t 11 in three mniutes whether you have the winning ticket when the number is called. If you fail to win this week save all your tickets and put them away until Christmas Eve for the final draw ing and for the grand prize. The ticket that will not bring you $20 or $10 today may bring $75, $25, or $15 Christmas Eve.
