Lynch was host at a very delightful fish fry and picnic at Hamm Field Friday afternoon in I honor of the Girl Scouts. Mr. Lynch will give a fry this after noon for the Boy Scouts. Fisher Rites Held Near Rutherfordton Rutherfordton, May 15.—Funer al services for L. R. Fisher, 81, who died Tuesday, were held on Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Henry Fisher, near here, with whom he lived. Burial followed at Landrum, S. C. The Rev. M. M. Huntley, the Rev. Robt. Earley and the Rev. A. T. Wood of Landrum were in charge of the services. Mr. Fisher was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist church, five miles west of Rutherfordton. He is survived by the following chil dren: Henry Fisher, of near Rutherfordton, Bud Fisher, Land lum, S. C.* John Fisher, Tryon; Mack Fisher, Chesnee; Mrs. Smiley Belue, Landrum, S. C., and Mrs. J?ne Campbell, Union, S, C. Mr. Fisher had made his home near here since the death of his wife in 1928.—Asheville Citizen. League Banquet Is Held at Parish House The Henderson - Polk Epworth League Banquet was held on Fri day night at the Parish House. A large crowd of Leaguers were present. J. C. Cos ton, prseident of the Union, awarded the banners as follows: The Yearly Merit Cup was awarded to Moore’s Grove, and the attendance to Tryon. The monthly attendance banner was won by East Flat Rock, and the Merit banner by Moore’s Grove.
