Rev. Continued on Back Page TRYON, N. C., SATURDAY, FEB. 13, 1937 Tilley Accepts Call to Church at Columbus Columbus, Feb. 12.—The Rev. G. V. Tilley, formerly of Mor ganton, has accepted a call to the Columbus - Mill Spring Baptist churches. Dr. Tilley is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and of the Southern Baptist Theologi cal seminary, Louisville, Ky. His wife is an accomplished musician who studied at the Balti more Conservatory of music and taught in Louisburg college, Louis burg, N. C. Dr. Tilley accepted the call fol lowing the resignation of the Rev. Charles B. Trammel about two months ago. He and Mrs. Tilley moved to Columbus on Wednesday and he will deliver his first sermon here on Sunday.—Asheville Citizen. Pearson Rites Conducted At Saluda Church Saluda, Feb. 12. Frederick Pearson died on Thursday at Try on lodge, Tryon. He was a broth er of Giles Pearson and of the late Ellis Pearson of Melrose. Mr. Pearson recently was en gaged in business in Mobile, Ala., but his health had been poor for seven years. The funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at the Church of the T: nsfiguration in Saluda, the Rev. H. Cary-Elwes officiating. Interment was in Friendship ceme tery near here. The survivors include two daugh ters. —Asheville Citizen.
