Tryon members have enjoyed this year’s series which included among oth ers, Rethberg and Pinza, and The Ballet Russe. The season mem bership is $5.00. No subscriptions for the next season will be accept ed after this week. Membership in this association entitles the sub scriber to attend concerts held by associations in Asheville. Green ville, and any other cities having associations. Those interested in subscribing should call one of the following as soon as possible: Mrs. John Ferguson, Mrs. George Brock enbrough, Sam Bingham, Jr., Baxter Haynes or George Brannon. All new members may attend the of the National Symphony in Spartanburg on April 6th, as guests of the Association. Lynn Scout Meeting As the roll was called each Scout answered with the state ment of a good deed done. Then the boys were divided into two groups with Hanford Rhodes, patrol leader, and Hollis Con stance, assistant pati’ol leader, giving instruction in first, second class and tenderfoot Scouting. Two games were played and the pledge of allegiance given before dismissal. Hollis Con stance, {Scribe). TRYON, N. C., WED,, MARCH 31, 1937 “Europe In Africa” W. B. Weigel, who delivered an interesting address at the Tryon Kiwanis club on Tuesday in which he told of the activities of Euro pean nations in Africa, will address the Tryon Young Men’s Associa tion on Thursday night at 8 o’clock at the club rooms. All men of the community are invited. A couple of boxing matches will be held. Dance Tonight A dance will be held tonight, (Wed.), March 31st, at Sunnydale for the members of the Tryon Riding & Hunt club, the Trails association, and their guests. Ad mission $1 per couple or single. All members please come. This dance for the benefit of the Help ing Hand. For Better Cooks The third of a series of cooking schools conducted by the Duke Power Co., for the colored cooks of the communtiy. under the di rection of Mrs. Frank Moore of Greenville, S. C., will be held on Thursday nieht at 7:30 in the kitchen of the local office. Last Thursday over fifty persons at tended the school which is free to all colored people interested in better cooking. White people are encouraging their cooks to attend these schools in order to profit in the enjoyment of better ' cooked foods at a saving of electricity and time.
