Est. 1-31-28 Stunt Flying Here Over Screvens Today Peter Brooks of New York, one of America’s greatest stunt fly ers, will give a free exhibition this afternoon Tryon Airport 1 ' at Screvens bot toms. He will not land on the field but will do all kinds of stunts in the air, tails pins, slow rolls, falling leaf, Immelmans, fly ing upside down, and other stunts at a height of 1,500 feet. Mr. Brooks, who is visiting his aunt, Mrs. M. B. Flynn, at Little Or. chard, flew to Spartanburg Friday from New York in his little Mono coupe plane in four and one-half hours, making about 130 miles per hour. He w : as accompanied by the Honorable Diana Cavendish of London, England, who will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Flynn for sometime. Mr. Brooks will re turn to New York on Sunday. He has taken part in leading air races, test flights, barnstorming and mili tary maneuvers. The people of this section are to be given another rare treat through the thought fulness of Mr. and Mrs. Flynn. It is unfortunate that Mr. Brooks could not remain here long enough to put on the show on Sunday so that more people could have an opportunity to see it. He will drive to Spartanburg this after noon and fly back over Tryon. Saluda split a double-header with Flat Rock Friday night. Saluda girls lost to Flat Rock girls by a large margin, but the Saluda Boys came back to win over the Flat Rock boys by <a close margin after playing off a tie. TRYON, N.
