GIRL SCOUT LEADERS HEAR INTERESTING TALK Girl Stout leaders of Ruther ford and Polk counties heard an unusually interesting discussion of Girl Scout activities at the Forest City Women’s club house on Tues day afternoon. The speaker was Miss Frances D. Dodds, who is a member of the National Scout organization in New York, a field worker of Region 6, North and South Carolina, Georgia and Flori da. Miss Dodds gave helpful sug gestions to the leader and troop < ommittee. She hopes to speak in Tryon the latter part of April. The date will be announced later. « Mrs. Carl Connor has returned to High Point after a visit with her mother, Mrs. M. L. Nash. Dr. John Stewart Burgess, chair man of the department of Socialo gy at Temple University and Mrs. Burgess are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Howell this week. Dr. and Mrs. Burgess were formerly con nected with Yenching University at Peking, China. Miss Louise Chapman has re turned home from a visit in Mexi co. She reports the thrill of see ng bull fighting in Mexico City. D. F. Miss Evaline Nash has returned to Cowpens, S. C., after a visit here with her mother.
