Est 1-31-28 TRYON, N<£., THURSDAY, MAR. 30, 193'J Hunter Trials Are Seen by Big Crowd The annual hunter trials, spon- JKsored by the Tryon Hounds, and by John R. Kimberly, M. ' F. H., were held on Wednesday afternoon before a large crowd of interested spectators. The course, located in the Hunt ing country, was viewed from the Lemort hill. Judges were Mrs. John L. Gran din, of Boston, Miass., and Henry C. Colt, of Camden, S. C. and Cenesco, N. Y. Horses were shown over sever al jumps and all the obstacle they might meet in the course of a day’s hunting. There were three classes—Junior, senior, and pro fessional, with a large number of horses in each class. A special feature of the after noon was a hunt team class, shown following the others, in which the junior team composed of Carter Brown,. Austin Brown, and ’|®fiss Sally Ordway, won first ""- place. Mjiss Patricia Jack Pierce, and C. O. Alig, Jr., were second. Winners in the other classes in cluded: Class 1, junior Hunters First Nuthatch, ridden by Miss Ann Ordway; second, Grey Lagg, rid den by M!ss Polly Mahler; third, Cunning Vixen, ridden by Miss Patricia Ferneding; fourth, Foxy anna, Austin Brown. Class 2, senior Hunter—First, Virginia Russell, ridden by John R. Kimberly; second, Red Dust, Mrs. James A. Furr and Kemmerlin defeated Charlie Nessmith’s duck pin rollers on Wednesday night by 45 pins. The individual score for the win ners are as follows: Costa, 419; Ferree, 473; Kem merlin, 492; Ferree, 470; Comer, 451. Larry Brooks substituted for Furr one game, rolling 200*
