(Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Church of the Holy Cross with the Rev. Charles L. McGavern, officiating. Interment in Tryon cemetery. Mrs. Slagle is survived by two daughters, Miss Patricia Slagle of Tryon and Miss Caroline Slagle, student at Limestone college; also one sister. Miss Sara Tisdale, of Trvon and three brothers, D. T. Tisdale of Cornelius, N. C.; Ar thur and H. G. Tisdale of Con way, S. C. Mrs. Slagle first came to Tryon in 1913 to work in the office of Jackson & Jackson, and later was secretary at Oak Hall hotel. She was marripd to William Roy Slagle of Asheville at Cherokee Lodge in 1914. She returned to Tryon in 1924 and had a long and useful secretarial career with the firms of Jackson & Jackson, Southern Mercerizing Co., Dr. M. C. Pal mer. Miassenburg, McCown & Ar ledge, E. P. M,anville and the Try on Chamber of Commerce. The battle of wits by bits has been postponed to Friday, February 2, Candlemas Day, Ground Hog Day, Fritz Kreisler’s birthday. Some say the change was made on ac count of the weather. Some say on account of the flu. Ask It, Basket save the date on your cal endar for this big event. It is the day of many questions. Tryon High Meets Sunny View Tonight Tonight at 7:30 the Tryon high team goes against its first county opponent when the fast stepping Sunny View team comes to the local gym. The visitors have one of their best teams in years and the game from all indications will be close and hard fought. Sunny View with victories over Stearns high of Columbus and Green’s Creek are anxious to maintain their perfect county record at Tryon’s expense. The Tryon boys with a 29 to 7 victory over the strong Landrum team last Friday night will be in top form for the contest with all ten men of the first string in pood shape. The startmg line-up will be taken from: Dutton Beatson. Vin ing. Chapman, Cooksev, McFar land, Ford, Melton, Ed Beatson, Jackson and Taylor.
