Club Members Assessed $lO
For Improvements
An interesting meeting of the
Tryon Country Club directors was
held on Tuesday night at Oak Hall
after which Manager E. A. Em
merman served coffee and cakes.
Discussion brought out the value
of the Country club to the com
munity as a recreation center and
as an attraction to visitors and
homebuilders. A Concensus of
opinion showed that every business
house and resident in the commun
ity should support the club for its
value in helping build the town. A
report was made of the annual
meeting held last wek at which
time the members assessed them
selves $lO each to help pay for
the visitors lounge, pro work shop
and new locker room equipment.
It was also voted at the annual
meeting to charge an initiation fee
of $25 for new members elected
after April 1, 1940. The question
of requiring hotels and inns to
furnish guests with cards was also
discussed.
