An added feature of Court Week will be the free dem onstration of cotton ginning on the Courthouse lawn. County Agent J. A. Wilson is eager to have a large number of farmers see this n~w process. Two demonstrations will be given on Thursday. One time at 8:30 a. m., and again, at 12:30 noon Soon Polk County boys and girls will be leav ing for college. C., William David Foster William David Foster, 82, one of the pioneer citizens of Polk County died at his home near Co lumbus late Saturday night after a long illness. The deceased, a retired farmer, had spent his en tire life in this county and was one of its best known citizens. Funeral services will be conduct ed at the Williams’ family ceme tery at 2 p. m., today. Survivors include three daugh ters, Mrs. Betty Gosnell, Landrum Route 2; Mrs. Grace Cook, Tryon Route 1; Mrs. Emma Gosnell, Landrum; two sons, Tom Foster, Tryon and Vinie Foster of Colum bus; also one brother Charlie Fos ter of Lynn. Adams-Millis Wins Adams-Millis won over S'ayles Bleachery 6 to 1 in a Western North Carolina Industrial League baseball game at Harmon Field on Saturday afternoon. Ward and Ar ledge formed the battery for the locals. Kiwanis Tuesday The Tryon Kiwanis club will meet on Tuesday at 1 p. m., at Hotel Tryon. The program will be in charge of Seth M. Vining. Softball Today The Bushwhackers and the Kilo watters will play softball at Har mon Field at 6:15 today. Sdumer co will nlay the Browns at Land rum. There is no admission charg ed to see these games.
