OWEN’S PHARMACY WALGREEN AGENCY DRUG STORE Avant-Ellis Wedding Plans Miss Lois Slate Avant, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Avant, has announced plans for her wedding to Reverend Richard Archie Ellis, son of Mrs. E. W. Ellis of Greenville, S. C. The wedding will be solemnized on Tuesday, November 4th, at 7 o’clock in the evening at the Ers kine Memorial church, Dr. C. Ar thur Lincoln, the bride’s pastor, and Dr. E. E. Bomar of Landrum will perform the ceremony. A program of nuptial music will be rendered by Mrs. E. E. Missildine and Mrs. A. J. Mitchell. Mr. Edwin Beach will sing. Miss Avant will be given in marriage by her father, Mr. Louis A Avant. Mr. Ellis will have as his best man, his brother, Mr. Albert W. Ellis of Meyers ville, S. C. The bride’s only sis ter, Mrs. Marcus Caldwell, will be her matron-of-honor. The usher groomsmen include Mr. Marcus Caldwell of Tryon; Mr. John G. Landrum of Landrum; Mr. Pete Harris and Mr. Faust Nicholson of Greenville, S. C. COMMUNITY PROBLEMS Vice-president George A. Cathey will be in charge of the Tryon Kiwanis club program on Tuesday at 1 p. m., at Oak Hall hotel. He requests all Kiwanians to come prepared to discuss some community problem. There will be a round table discussion. James Andrews has brought the Andrews Stables horses down from Flat Rock and opened the Andrews Stables here for the win ter season. Mr. and Mrs. Andrews are occupying their house on Godshaw Hill. Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Andrews and daughter, Miss Louise Andrews, are expected later this month. OLD HATS MADE NEW.
