ATTENTION! How many times have you ex-service men snapped to attention to that command? This is not a command, but a plea for all returned vets to stop and take stock of the multiple BENEFITS YOU HAVE EN JOYED as a result of the efforts of the AMERICAN LEGION. p TO NAME ONLY A FEW: Family Allowances, Mustering Out Pay, Increased Com pensation While In Service, And Best Of All An Ameri can Legion Still Working For You Now That You Are Home. What about it, men? Can you afford not to put your best efforts in the right direction? How many of your buddies gave their all? Can you sit idly by and see their families suffer because you no longer care? Let’s face the facts, men. There are enough veterans in Polk County to get thiftgs done if you want anything. If not stay away from the Legion meetings. Don’t give your membership to any one. Discourage any of your buddies from joining the Legion, if that is what you want. Bjut I for one am hop png you and you are enough of an American to want the best that can be had for yourselves and your loved ones. Let’s show our colors and be at the LEGION MEETING at the High School in SALUDA, N. C., TUESDAY NITE DECEMBER 4, 1945 at 7:30 P. M. If you haven’t joined yet, don’t let that keep you away. You will be given an opportunity at the meeting to be come a member. If we get 100 or more by that nite we hope to organize an auxiliary at our January meeting. CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?
