The home demonstration club
held the first meeting of the year
on Monday evening with Mrs. C.
E. Blanton, Miss Hamrick and
Miss Cline in charge of the pro
gram, which was on “Family Fi
nancial Planning’’ in which some
unusual information was brought
to -the women, information which
should lead to better management
of the family income, and which
should wake the club members to
the knowledge that everyone
should make a will, whether the
possessions be large or small. At
the close of the meeting Mrs. Blan
ton served delicious refreshments,
and the social hour was a high
light of the evening.

C., is visiting her sister, Mrs.
Lizzie D. Ormand.
Mrs. J. M. Hodge of Ruther
fordton is spending a few days
with relatives here.

Lantfrum were Sunday guests of
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Shehan.
Frank Burgess was host to a
few friends Saturday evening, at
his home here.
