HOUSE PARTY AT SALUDA S. C. MOUNTAIN HOME A much enjoyed house party was held last week-end at the Southern Clerks Mountain Home of which Mrs. Annie S. Bennett is manager. Among the guests were Mr. and ~ Mrs. Secrest, bride and bride groom of Salisbury; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Peeler, and daughter, Nan cy Peeler, Mrs. C. M. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Hay Peeler, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Peeler and J. L. Peeler, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. I. M. Shoe, Miss Eula Peeler, teacher in Kan napolis schools, Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes Guffy, Mr. and Mrs. An drews of Glenn Ellen, 111., Mr. and Mrs. Jackson of Ludlow, Ky., Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Peeler, and son, B. S. Jr., of Kings Mountain, Mr. and Mrs. George Goleman 01 Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Moody of New Orleans, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald O’Brien of Long Island, N. Y., Mr. and Mrs. George B. Peeler of Kannapolis, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Wetmore and daughter, Carolyn, of Woodleaf, N. C. The majority of the men in the party were railway clerks. The clerks mountain home is famous for its beautiful mountain views and old time Southern hos pitality. Plans are being made to add on to this large building, 16 more bed rooms, just as soon as the season closes, so as to be able to take care of the crowds that have to be turned away each year for lack of room—Mrs. R.
