The shortage is felt all over this sec tion and many wells and springs have gone dry.Today is LABOR DAY, honoring all who work and that just about includes everybody now. The doctor, lawyer, preacher; financier, farmer,, ffie chanic and others are all laborers. College graduates do janitor work and many men who never graduat ed from high school head big businesses. The important thing today is to train our people in the work they like And are best fitted for in order for them to get the most happiness out of life and be of most service to their fellowmen. . . . . The Social Committee of the Tryon Country Club is direct ing entertainment at the club to day for members. A Scotch four some tournament will begin at 2 p. m. Swimming, tennis, etc., will be available and a picnic supper will be served at 6 o'clock. Each member taking sufficient food for the number in his party . , . John. FLYNN Mrs. Ila Lowe Flynn, 63, died >^jrday afternoon at her home Landrum, RFD 1. & She was a native of Spartanburg County, S. C., resident of Polk County for about 40 years and was the daughter of the late Joe and Beulah Ezell Lowe. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p. m. in Pacolet Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. C. C. Tucker and the Rev, A. T. Howard will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Nephews will be pallbearers and nieces will be flower bearers. Surviving are the husband, Rob ert G. Flynn; two daughter, Mrs. Mary Broyles and Mrs. Beulah Raburn of Landrum, S. C., RFD 1 four sons, Lionel of the home Hoyt L., Robert and Glenn of Landrum, $. C., RFD 1. Three sisters, Mrs. Will Flynn of Tryon, RFD 1, Mrs. Minnie Brien of Spartanburg, S. C., RFD 5, and Mrs. Whitney Brock of Spartanburg, S. C.; three brothers, Charlie Lowe of Campobello, S. C„ RFD 1, Fred Lowe of Inman, S. C., RFD 1, and Frank Lowe of Rock Hill, S. C., and 15 grandchildren. The McFarland Funeral Home of Tryon in charge.
