is wrong. He said, “In the battle
for Truth, you and I have a defi
nite part to play through the
Crusade for Freedom.” An appeal
was issued through The Bulletin
for funds with which to carry on
the Crusade for Freedom. Have you
answered the appeal? The quota
for the whole county is only $130,
just a few cents for each person.
Maybe you think the General is
,,-all wet. Governor Stevenson said,
MThe unique spirit of the Crusade
Wor Freedom is its private and
voluntary character.” He knows
how distasteful it is to be made
to do things by force. Have you
volunteered your small donation,
to show your interest and to en
courage those who are carrying
on the fight to win the war with
the least loss of life and property.
Over 20 million people responded
last year, and your help is needed
now if you want to back up the
program that is fighting for free
dom everywhere, and that means

Columbus Prize Winners
Prizes of $15, $10, and $7 have
been presented by the Columbus
Chamber of Commerce to Mr. and
Mrs. John Harvey for first place
in having the best decorated home
during the Christmas season; sec
ond place to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas
Roper and third to Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Wild.
L. H. SHEHAN
L. H. Shehan, 81, of Colum
bus, passed away Friday, Dec. 26,
at 10:45 a. m., at St. Luke’s Hos
pital in Tryoo. Funeral services
were held Saturday at Jackson
Grove Methodist Church with the
Rev. A. M. Jones and the Rev.
LeRoy D. Leppard, officiating.
Mr. Shehan is survived by his
wife, the former Miss Dora Wilson;
and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Wal
drop of Duncan, S. C., and Mrs.
Carrie Edwards of Columbus.
Interments was in Jackson
Grove cemetery.
