Miss Ida Acker says she and a group made a trip to St. Peters burg, Fla., last Christmas and saw many communities lighted up for the Christmas season, and they came to the conclusion that -Continued on Back Page.._ Country Club Bridge Results At the Tryon Country Club Bridge Party held Tuesday for club members and their guests first prize went to M!rs. George Newhall; second to Mrs. George Lawrence; third to Mrs. Wilbur Bucher and fourth to Mrs. Jack Craig. The guest prize went to Mrs. William Gilchrist. There were 30 women participating in the play and the hostesses for the day were Mrs. Walter Brent and Mrs. A. R. Herron. The next party will be held on Jan. 12, 1954. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Searcy of Saluda are the parents of a girl born Dec. 8, at 4:02 p. m. Landrum Civic League v Mrs. C. J. Ayers, Mrs. Bill Turn er, Mrs. Joseph Manor, Mrs. B. M. Walden and Mrs. R. L. Broome were hostesses to the members of the Civic League, Friday af ternoon at the home of Mrs. Ayers on Main Street. Outgoing president, Mrs. W. M.
