Her companion, Angus Primrose, an English yachtsman who owned the boat is missing and presumed drowned. Many schools, churches, etc. are having Halloween Carnivals. Those advertised in the Bulletin are: Stearns Halloween Carnival at the Stearns gym with King and Queen contest at 6 p.m. and Games begin at 7 p.m. All kinds of food available.. The Mill Spring PTA Halloween Carnival begins at 6 p.m. at the Mill Spring School with Horror House, King and Queen and Games....Tryon PTA is having a Spaghetti dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Elementary School Cafeteria. There will be games, costume parade for young and old...The Polk County Jaycees have a haunted house behind Petty Funeral Home in Landrum which will be operating tonight and Saturday from 7:30 p.m. It's an excellent opportunity to take the children out, have a good time and also keep them from doing tricks that sometimes aren't too funny. Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m. is the free barbecue chicken dinner given by the Polk County Democrats at Harmon Field Turkey Shoots will be held Saturday from 10 a m. to 4 p.m. at the Mill Spring ballfield and from 10 until at the Pea Ridge Club. The League of Women Voters does a service locally and nation wide to inform voters about the candidates. This Sunday at 4 p.m. you may begin calling in your questions to WTYN (457-4105) to the candidates for Polk County Commissioner. The program begins at 4:30 p.m. You may address your question to all or to one particular candidate. Monday at 7:30 p.m. the Polk Central Band will be in concert at the Tryon Fine Arts Center. Tuesday is election day — an opportunity for each of us to vote for the candidates of our choice. It is a privilege that many of us take for granted and don't appreciate it. Tuesday at 2:30 p.m the Polk County Historical Association will meet at the Polk County Library in Columbus. WANTED: Mechanic with lathe or machine shop experience. The Ram elected Karen Rhodes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rhodes and the Little Cardinals elected Kristy Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Jones. Karen was sponsored by Joe Saunders and Kirsty was sponsored by Jeff Wall. Girls nominated by the Rams were Lisa Davis, Sandy Nodine, Jill Campbell, Diane Ramsey, Lorie Burns, Paula Bruce, Crystal Campbell and Chris Belue.
