Duke University Academic
Council voted Thursday to urge
an end to discussions aimed at
putting a Richard Nixon
presidential library at Duke The
vote was 35-34. The faculty
council vote was to be a
recommendation to the Duke
trustees’ executive committee.
But the close vote may serve only
to tell the trustees how evenly
split the faculty is.
Thomas Page, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Page of Columbus,
has accepted a position with the
Tar Reel Bank in Murfreesboro,
C. He will be Assistant to the
Vice-President.

Meet Today
The Polk County
Commissioners will meet today
at 3 p.m at the courthouse in
Columbus
Planning Board
Meets Thursday
The Polk County Planning and
Zoning Board will meet Thursday
at 7:30 p.m. in the courthouse
annex in Columbus.
Farm-City Tours
Plans for Farm-City activities
have been finalized according to
Richard Smith, Polk County
Farm-City Chairman Two

to familiarize people with
farming operations in Polk
County.
