Weather Monday: high 49, low

Tuesday was .90 inches. For
November the precipitation was
.91 of an inch. The precipitation to
date is 40.21 and the average to
date is 54.72, leaving a deficit of
14.60 inches. The rain continued

The Town of Tryon crew began
nutting up the Christmas trees on
Trade Street Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. John W. Killough
of Landrum are parents of a
daughter, Kari Loraine, born
November 29th at Pardee
Hospital in Hendersonville. She
has a brother, Joe, 12 years old
and a sister, Wendy, 10 years old.
Maternal grandparents are Mr.
and Mrs. Grady Lance of Mills
River and the paternal
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
W. J. Killough of Charlotte.

Monday at 3 p.m. at the
courthouse in Columbus.
Gay Blades Tea
The Gay Blades Garden Club
annua! Christmas Tea will be
held Thursday, Dec. loth at 3
p.m. at the home of Mrs. Frank
McFarland, Jr. on Freeman Hill
with Mrs. Harold Warrington as
co-hostess.

Schools Advisory Council will
meet at 7 p.m. on Monday,
December 7 in the NCNB
Conference Room in Columbus.
Members are reminded to bring
their suggestions for resource
volunteers to be included in a
county-wide school resource
guide for students and teachers.

Pat McCool has returned to
Western Carolina University
after spending the Thanksgiving
holidays with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Gary McCool of Tryon.
Dean Campbell
Is Rotary Speaker
The Tryon Rotary Club will
meet at 12:30 p.m. on Monday at
the Hearthstone Inn. Dean
Campbell, well known and widely
acclaimed theatrical
personaility, will be the guest
speaker.
Mr. Campbell, a native of
Gowensville, S. C., is a graduate
of Furman University and holds a
degree of Professional in
Advertising from UCLA. After
many years in advertising and
publishing activities in New York
and California, he presently lives
in Greer, S. C., where he owns the
Country/Western Real Estate
Firm. He is Secretary of Span-
American, Inc. of Greenville, S.
C.
Since his return to the
Carolinas, Mr. Campbell has
been a contributor of articles and
photographs on the history of the
upper Greenville County area to
“The Sandlapper”, “Living in
South Carolina”, and “South
Carolina Margazine.” Active in
the Tryon Little Theater, both as
actor and director, he makes on
stage guest appearances in
Greenville, Anderson, and Flat
Rock. His latest accomplishment
was as director of “The Belle of
Amherst.”
