cleared by John Weicker of
Peniel Road. Some had
mistakenly thought this was the
site of the new Trinity Lutheran
Church. Trinity Pastor Ray
Weber said his church site is
adjacent to the Weicker property,
but will not be developed for a
couple years yet. Architect Ralph
Sherer is working on building
designs now.
Weicher. who was unavailable
for comment Monday morning,
has had his property for sale for
some time, and was apparently
just cleaning it up.
Dick Briggs of Landrum was
recently published in Publisher s
Auxiliary. the National
Newspaper Association's trade
journal. Briggs, a broker and

Amanda Lynn Ligon, a
sophomore majoring in Biology
at Appalachian State University,
has made the Dean's List for the
fall term.
Amanda is the daughter of
Elwood and Linda Ligon of

Mrs. Lillie P. Owens has
returned to her home in
Columbus after a two week
holiday visit with her daughter
and son-in-law. Janice and Tom
Hall of Eden. N. C. and their
children. Mr. and Mrs. Todd Hall
of Chapel Hill and Page Hall of
State University.
