Power 93 Move
Here Temporary
The radio station which
formerly known as '
was
The
Breeze" has moved its pro
gramming offices to the Feagan
Building in Columbus.
But not for long.
WBBO-FM/93.3 will be
moving its entire operation to
Greenville, S.C. as soon as new
studios can be built there.
"We were in Forest City,"
said WBBO's Bill Catcher. He
said the station dropped the soft
jazz/ pop format and became
"Power 93" with Top 40 rock n'
roll. Tire Forest City AM station
which owned the building
where "The Breeze" studios
were located was not comfort
able with the new format and
asked WBBO to move out
within 30 days.
"We decided to move right
away," Catcher said. "But this is
only temporary. It is nothing
against Columbus. But it is hard
to service Greenville and Spar
tanburg from here and we need
°“ r Programming and sales
offices together."
Catcher said the station's
tower is located on top of White
Oak Mountain, and that made
Columbus a good location.
Tire tower will remain outside
Columbus after the move to
Greenville. Catcher said it is no
Problem to send the signal as
tar as from Greenville to the
tower.
"It is done all the time " he
said. ’
