The art of illusion and the magic of music will be combined in the first of three Lollipops Concerts for Kids presented by the WS Piedmont Triad Symphony in the 1991-92 season. Landis & Company Theatre of Magic will join with the orchestra in "The Symphony and the Sorcerer" at 3 p.m. at the Stevens Center. Season tickets are available through the Symphony Box Office at 610 Coliseum Dr., and are priced at $10 for children and $14 for adults. Season tickets may be charged on Visa, MasterCard and American Express by calling 723-7919 or 1-800-368-MUSIC outside of Forsyth Coun ty. Single tickets are 54 for children and $6 for adults. ARTCHAMACALLITS?! are innovative art classes for children. Drama activities, movement and musical games are tools used to create a fast-paced, fun and varied program and to encourage sensory awareness. On six consecutive Tuesdays, Nov. 3-Dec. 10, classes will be offered for 6 -7 year old children. The session will run from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. There is a limit of 12 children for this class. For more information, call (919)727-2549. ? The Hanes Planetarium of the Nature Science Center is presenting its new fall feature star show, "Voyage to a Green Planet." The program takes the audience through outerspace via a luxury spacecruiser, the Cosmos Princess. In addition to weekend shows for the public, the Planetarium may also be reserved for school classes and other groups. On Saturdays, shows are ? scheduled at 11 ajn., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Two shows on Sundays are sched uled for 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Center is located off Hanes Mill Road and is > open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A general admission fee is charged, but group rates are avail able. Children ages 4-15 are invited to enter as many designs as they wish. Entry forms are available at all public library branches. Deadline for entry is Saturday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. Partici pants are asked to use black pens or pencils. Any entries submitted in crayon or colored ink will automatically be disqualified since they do not reproduce clearly. These designs will be selected from each age category and entrants will be notified after Jan. 1, 1992. A total of five (5) students were selected last year and five (5) additional students will . be selected this year to participate. The participants will be employed by Wachovia Bank and Ttust Co. during the school year on a part time basis in jobs such as key punch operators, proof operators, file clerks, etc. Because Wachovia Bank and Trust Co. caught the vision and saw the need to bridge the business/edu cation gap in the Winston-Salem Community, Upward Bound stu dents have the opportunity to partic ipate in expanded and extended pro gram activities via a $10,000 dona tion to the program.
