Area Deaths and Funerals Russell's Funeral Home 822 Carl Russell Ave. 722-3459 CAMPBELL Mrs. Cornelia Campbell, of Winston- Salem, died Thursday, November 7, 1991 at her home. She was born on November 5, 1909 in Greenville, S.C. to the late Tom and Ella Mills. In the earlier years of her life she moved to Winston-Salem where she joined Zion Memorial Baptist Church under the pastorship of Rev erend Montgomery. She was a faithful member of the Usher Board until her health failed. She was employed for more than thirty years at the R. J. Reynolds Tobac co Company. She was married to the late Melvin Campbell, Sr. and to this union one son was born. Her son, Melvin Campbell Jr. preceded her in death. She is survived by two grandsons, Melvin Camp bell III (wife, Beverly) and James Nobel both of Win ston-Salem; one granddaughter, Shelia Keyes (hus band, Charles) of Philadelphia, Penn.; one sister, Ear line Hauser of New York; one sister-in-law, /Ella W. Campbell of Philadelphia, Penn.; four great-grandchil dren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 12, at 2 p.m., at Zion Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. K. O. Goodwin officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery. CHERRY Mrs. Marie Jones Cherry, of Winston-Salem, died Monday, November 11 at her home. She was born on December 13, 1924 in Rockingham County to Arthur and Pearlie Jones. She spent most of her life in the Guntree Community of Davidson County but for the past few years in the Union Ridge Community of Forsyth County. She was the widow of Henry Cherry who died August 9, 1980. She is survived by two sons, Fred Cherry and Henry "Duke" Cherry Jr. both of the home; four sis ters, Frances Ring, Christine Moses, Myrtle Mitchell, and Juanita Green; and one brother, Ray Jones. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 13, at 11 a.m. from Russell Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Garther W. Roland officiating. Burial followed at Oaklawn Memorial Park. : ISOM Mr. Henry Arthur Isom, known to his family and ; friends as "Penny Isom," of Winston-Salem, died Mon : day, November 4, 1991 at his home. He was born on ; January 13, 1926 to the late Joe and Mary Isom in ; Winston-Salem. He was a member of the Saint Bene * diet the Moor Catholic Church. He was a self - employed contractor. He was a member of the Knights * of Columbus and a veteran of the United States Army 2 serving during World War II. He is survived by two daughters, Viola McKinney - of St Louis, Mi. and Adriane Berry of Winston-Salem; * two sons, Owens Douthit and Terry Douthit both of - Winston Salem; one sister, Julia Isom Johnson of Win * ston-Salem; one brother, Odell (Mary) Isom of Win 3 ston-Salem; an aunt, Laura Hanes and a devoted - friend, Mildred Williams both of Winston- Salem; six grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and I friends. He was born on : July 27, 1960 in Winston-Salem to Vercie Key Ferrce ; and George W. Wall. He was a native of Winston ? Salem and had lived here all his life. He was a member : of the United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church ; where he was a member of the Christian Fellowship : CHoir. He was a 1979 graduate of East Forsyth High 3 School and was an employee of the R. J. Reynolds 3 Industries, Processing Plant #605. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Vercie Key 4 Ferree of the home; his father, George W. Wall of Win ston-Salem; two brothers, Kim Key and George W. Wall Jr. both of Winston-Salem; seven aunts; eight uncles; three nieces; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 12, at 3 p.m., at United Metropolitan Missionary Bap tist Church with Dr. J. Donald Ballard officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery. RUSH Mr. James Elbert Rush Jr., know to his family and friends as "Curly Jimmy," of Winston-Salem, died Tuesday, November 5,4991 at his-home. He was born on March 7, 1939 in Winston-Salem to the late James P. and Minnie McCoy Rush. lie was of the Baptist Faith and was educated at the local public schools. He moved to New York, N.Y. at an early age, and was a furrier by trade in that city before returning to Win ston-Salem in 1975. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Rufus Rush. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Diane Mungin; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Rush (Eli) Spillman; a sister-in law, Mrs. Yvonne Clark Rush; four grandchildren; two first cousins, Mr. Wilbert McCoy and Mr. James Hark less; four aunts, one uncle; and a host of other relatives and many friends. Funeral servfces^were held Saturday, November 9;* at 2 p.m. from Russell Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Garther Roland officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery. WILLIAMS Mrs. Amanda Murray Fulp Williams, of Winston Salem, died Tuesday, November 5, 1991 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 28, 1911 in Gastonia, North Carolina to the late Mary Davis Mur ray and the late Calvii^W. Murray. She had lived in Winston-Salem for most of her life. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where she served with the Deborah Missionary Group and was a devoted homemaker. She is survived by a daughter, Olivia F. Hairston of Winston-Salem; four sons, William L. Fulp of Asheville, Theodore C. Fulp and Jarvis Fulp both of Winston-Salem; and Bernard Fulp of Waban, Mas sachusetts; a sister, Ella M. Whitworth and a brother, M.C. Murray Sr. of Winston-Salem; sixteen grandchil dren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends. ? Funeral services were held Saturday, November 9, at 12 noon, from Mount Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Serenus T. Churn officiating. Burial followed at Mount Sinai-Fulp Family Cemetery in Belews Creek.
